Each ADM9.1 has two discrete linear bipolar, power amplifiers with separate power supplies that eliminate entirely inter modulation between low and high frequency sections. Each bass driver has 250 Watts and each Tweeter 75 watts. This means that not only is distortion exceptionally low but there is sufficient headroom to avoid clipping with modern recordings.
In any two-way loudspeaker system there are two crucial factors that must be considered: Firstly, over the range of frequencies where both drivers are audible that the signal from each must be coincident in time. Only phase correct crossovers can achieve this. Secondly, the drive, in particular to tweeters, should be shut off as quickly as possible beyond the frequency of the crossover to ensure inaudibility outside its normal operating range.
